MissionData2Text specialises in building computer software that can automatically generate textual (English, French, etc) summaries of numerical and other data sets. The company is based on technology developed by the Data-to-Text research group at the University of Aberdeen, which has developed software that automatically summarises weather data, medical data, and engineering data. Research carried out at Aberdeen shows that computer-generated summaries can be as good as summaries written by people, and can help people understand and make decisions based on data sets.
